Buhari shunning CAN over killing of Christians –YOWICAN

The Youth Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) has alleged that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government was not interested in meeting with CAN president, Dr. Supo Ayokunle to discuss the killing of Christians in Nigeria.
This was disclosed by YOWICAN president, Daniel Kadzai, during an interaction with newsmen in Abuja.
“The Ayokunle-led leadership is poised to ensure that all Christians worship without fear or intimidation throughout the country. The man just took over the mantle of leadership and he met crisis on the ground. He is up and doing to stabilise the system to be able to address the common problems we are facing as a body.
“He has made several attempts to see the President of this country to table some challenges that have been bedevilling the nation and the challenges facing the Christendom. Unfortunately, the Federal Government of Nigeria is not willing to see the CAN President because of one reason or the other,” Kadzai said.
He then called on Christians to disregard the insinuation that CAN president is not making pragmatic responses to the travails of Christians across the country.
He explained that the reason it seems Ayokunle was not doing enough in issues affecting Nigerian Christian was based on that denial to meet with President Buhari, adding that the Presidency has only restricted CAN to media alone by making sure the door of fruitful interaction with the president never come to pass.

Kadzai who disclosed that he had been to all the places where Christians where massacred with their properties destroyed to get first-hand information, decried government apathetic approach in addressing the issues.
Attacks by Fulani Herdsmen reportedly in southern Kaduna alone, has left over 800 Christians dead. Similar incessant attacks across Nigeria, had seen several Christians murdered, leading to some pastors preaching retaliation from Christians.
